Assessing mitigation pathway risk and uncertainty: case studies in the Netherlands, Kenya and Chile

TRANSrisk held the free side event "Assessing mitigation pathway risk and uncertainty: case studies in the Netherlands, Kenya and Chile" side event at COP22 on Friday 18^th of November 2016.

In this workshop TRANSrisk approach to developing low emission transition pathways and practical application of this work to a ‘post-Paris’ world was analysed.  More specifically, case studies from the Netherlands, Kenya and Chile were presented, with the audience invited to participate and give feedback.

The event depicted an overview of how quantitative models and stakeholder input can be used together to develop and analyse transition pathways. Also, it was shown how system maps can be used to visualise the technological innovation systems that support pathway development and implementation. A short article introducing the Netherlands case study is available here.
