Chile Case Study

TRANSrisk partner CLAPES UC has developed an interesting paper entitled "Promoting renewable energy and the risk of energy poverty in Chile".

TRANSrisk partner Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (CLAPESUC) organised the workshop "Tools for Measuring and Managing Risks and Uncertainties of Climate Change" on 24^th August 2018, at the Aula Magna of the MBA Building of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Av. Lib. Bernardo O'Higgins 440), in Santiago, Chile.

TRANSrisk participated in the workshop Mes de la Energia – “Hacia la transicion energetica: cambio climatico y pobreza energetica” on 28^th June 2018, in Santiago, Chile.

TRANSrisk partner Clapes UC has given an interesting interview regarding energy poverty in Chile.

The interview was given to journalist Cristina Espinoza from the newspaper La Tercera and features insights from the TRANSrisk case study in Chile. More particularly, in the article the problem of energy poverty is highlighted, since 15.7% of the country's households is exposed to energy vulnerability. Moreover, this amount is estimated to reach 20% due to the expected rise of the electricity price.
