TRANSrisk Models

TRANSrisk's objective is to produce a new assessment framework, and an accompanying toolbox, for policy makers evaluating possible low carbon transition pathways in terms of technical, economical, and social feasibility. In doing so, TRANSrisk explores risks and uncertainties within the possible pathways using a unique approach, namely combining qualitative and quantitative analytical tools.

The models that are used within TRANSrisk framework are enlisted below. For more information regarding a specific model, click the relevant link.

Cambridge Econometrics – E3ME

ECN – TIAM

University of Graz – WEGC-CGE

BC3 – GCAM

IBS – MEMO

UPRC – BSAM

ETH – Calliope

Information on the complementarity of qualitative and quantitative analytical tools can be found here.

Also, a thorough literature review of risks and uncertainties associated with climate mitigation options has been carried out and is available here.
