The 2nd issue of TRANSrisk policy briefs entitled "European climate change mitigation targets: Exploring the potential contribution from behavioural change" has been published.
The issue is authored by Dirk-Jan van de Ven, Basque Centre for Climate Change and explores the potential contribution to European climate change mitigation targets from behavioural change. More particularly, the brief begins by presenting several behavioural change options, related to food, mobility, and housind demand, that reduce GHG emissions, without significantly affecting an individual’s final energy service or final calorie consumption. Subsequently it analyses the potential GHG emissions' reduction, while finally, the appropriate policy options to increase behavioural change are identified.
This policy brief was developed from TRANSrisk report D4.2 Implications of different “heterodox” mitigation policies.
