The 7th issue of TRANSrisk Working Documents entitled "Pobreza Energética e Impuesto a las emisiones de CΟ2 en Chile" has been published.

The issue is co-authored by Rodrigo Cerda (CLAPESUC) and Luis Gonzales (CLAPESUC). It estimates energy poverty rate of households in Chile based on data from the 2013 Family Budget survey for Chile.

Jenny Lieu on behalf of TRANSrisk partner CLAPES UC participated in the Energy for Society: 1st International Conference on Energy Research & Social Science held on 2 - 5 April 2017, in Melia Sitges, Spain.

TRANSrisk results on risk and energy poverty with evidence from Chile were promoted through a presentation along with a relevant paper.

Interview on the TRANSrisk case study in Chile

TRANSrisk partner Clapes UC has given an interesting interview regarding energy poverty in Chile.

The interview was given to journalist Cristina Espinoza from the newspaper La Tercera and features insights from the TRANSrisk case study in Chile. More particularly, in the article the problem of energy poverty is highlighted, since 15.7% of the country's households is exposed to energy vulnerability. Moreover, this amount is estimated to reach 20% due to the expected rise of the electricity price.
