Issue #11 July 2018

TRANSrisk is an exciting EU Horizon 2020 project studying the risks and uncertainties that lie ahead as we transition to a low carbon world. Our work examines the technical, economic and social feasibility of potential low carbon transition pathways. The project's outputs will help countries develop NDCs that complement socio-economic goals and assess risks and uncertainties associated with their potential pathways.

TRANSrisk Policy Lunch

Date: Tuesday, 06 Nov 2018

Venue: SQUARE convention centre, Brussels, Belgium

The event's perspective will be to highlight how can TRANSrisk's outcomes be applied both by policy makers as well as by practitioners.

During the event significant outcomes of TRANSrisk will be presented such as the novel assessment framework, and the accompanying decision support toolbox, which aim to assist policy and other decision makers to evaluate low carbon technology options.

GREEN-WIN, TRANSrisk, and CD-LINKS Joint Policy Day

Venue: Royal Library Meeting Center, Brussels, Belgium

The three EC Horizon 2020 projects, GREEN-WIN, TRANSrisk and CD-LINKS will co-organise a Joint Policy Day on 7^th November 2018, in Brussels, Belgium.

The event aims at assisting policy makers to understand the opportunities that the new shorter-term, multiple-objective, and bottom-up climate strategies framework presents, as well as the potential risks and uncertainties that lie in any proposed transition.

TRANSrisk Special Session in HELORS2018

Venue: International Conference Center of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh), Chania, Greece

TRANSrisk organised the scientific workshop “Exploring Risks and Implications of different Energy and Climate Policy Scenarios towards 2050: Methods, tools and models” in the 7^th International Symposium & 29^th National Conference on Operational Resarch.

Important presentations took place by academia representatives, while the discussion focused on climate change mitigation and energy production and management.
