TRANSrisk researcher Krisztina Szendrei has published the article "Barriers to the Rapid Adoption of Solar Panels", in JIQ Magazine vol. 23, no. 2.

In this 3-page article the implementation risks and uncertainties involved in the expansion of solar panels in the Netherlands is explored. More specifically, the article identifies two strategies for the adoption of solar panels, the first one is the diffusion of rooftop solar systems while the second one is the increase of land-based solar parks. Moreover, the article outlines the implications of some barriers to these strategies, such as the financial aspects, the suitability of rooftops for solar PVs, the spatial planning and the land use for solar parks, as well as the social perception and acceptance of solar systems in general.

More information regarding the JIQ Magazine can be found here.

Furthermore, within the framework of the TRANSrisk case study in the Netherlands, a survey is conducted focusing on the aspects of public acceptance of renewable energy (primarily solar energy) in the Netherlands. The survey (only in Dutch) is available through the following link: www.jin.ngo/zon-enquete.
